Thank You for Helping Heal Hearts in Mupanda Village
Because of you, caregivers are equipped. Children are treasured. Communities are being transformed by the love of Jesus.
In the quiet hills of Mupanda Village, children once walked to school with heavy hearts. Some carried invisible pain from loss or neglect. Others—especially those with disabilities—were left behind entirely.
Two teachers, Mrs. Banda and Mrs. Chisango from Hope Light Organization, saw the heartbreak in their students’ eyes each day. They longed to do more than teach; they wanted to bring healing—the kind that only Jesus can give.
They prayed that God would show them how to comfort the hurting and help children feel seen and loved in His name.
Then came a new opportunity—one that you helped make possible.
Earlier this year, both teachers attended the RiverCross Africa Summit, where leaders from across the continent gathered to learn, worship, and share tools to help vulnerable children thrive.
Because of your partnership, these teachers received trauma-informed, Gospel-rooted training—a model that combines biblical truth with research-based care. They discovered that when caregivers respond with empathy, consistency, and prayer, they mirror the tender compassion of Christ Himself.
At the Summit, they were reminded of a truth that now defines their work:
“God has already placed the right people in the right places to care for children in distress.”
They realized God had placed them in Mupanda to be His hands and feet—to reflect Jesus’ love in classrooms, families, and community life.
When they returned home, Mrs. Banda and Mrs. Chisango started the RiverCross Club—a safe space where every child could experience the love of Jesus in word and action.
They opened each meeting with prayer and a story from Scripture, showing children that Jesus understands sorrow and offers peace. They created calm routines, encouraged children to express their feelings, and taught caregivers how to bring comfort instead of fear.
Slowly, hearts began to heal. Children smiled again. Caregivers prayed with their sons and daughters. Classrooms once filled with anxiety became peaceful places of learning and laughter.
Even Chief Nkomo, the village leader, noticed the change. He helped organize training sessions so more teachers could learn these same Christ-centered, trauma-informed practices.
With continued collaboration, a Community Resource Centre was established—a place where caregivers receive practical tools, spiritual encouragement, and the reminder that Jesus is near to the brokenhearted.
All of this began with a truth spoken at the Summit—and with faithful partners like you who believe in God’s power to restore lives.
At RiverCross, we believe God has already placed the right people in the right places to care for children in distress. So we commit every day to help vulnerable children thrive by empowering their caregivers with training and resources—all to work toward a world where every child is treasured in their community and transformed by the love of Jesus.
Because of your partnership, that vision is taking root in places like Mupanda, where the presence of Christ is changing everything.
Thank you for walking with us—and with what God is doing in Africa.
Thank you for believing that Jesus still heals hearts and restores hope. Thank you for helping children discover that they are loved, valued, and never forgotten by God.
Every smile, every prayer, every act of kindness in Mupanda points back to Him.
The best way to continue this work is simple—share what God is doing.
Tell someone this story.
Talk about how Jesus is healing hearts and transforming communities.
Pray for the teachers, caregivers, and children learning to walk in His love.
Together, we’re joining Christ in His work of restoration—moving toward the day when every child is treasured and transformed by His love.
Thank you for partnering with us and with what God is doing.
