Winners Despite All Circumstances

I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
1 Corinthians 9:22-23.

A Winner's Hope*

The best way to reach a community is by meeting the people where they already are - and children in Zimbabwe are already on the soccer field. Earlier this year, RiverCross had the opportunity to lead 10 soccer coaches through our training to demonstrate the unique opportunity they have to impact the lives of the children they coach.

In Zimbabwe, many children have left school in order to work or have been impacted by child marriage, but by implementing RiverCross training in soccer programs outside of schools, it has created an intersection for these children to encounter hope. For many of these kids, their coaches are their only mentors, a responsibility which they take seriously as they seek to develop these children in their athletic and social skills. RiverCross has enabled these coaches to add another layer, developing resilience.

After their training, 5 of the coaches along with RiverCross trainers took 70 young soccer players on a camping trip where each coach was able to lead their players through activities inspiring them to not only grow as players, but as young men and women who are finding meaning in the hard things that have happened to them.

Praise God for the coaches in the lives of these players, teaching not only how to win games, but how to be winners despite all circumstances.
